Call for Nominees AGM 2024

Dear Summerside Residents,
As we continue to work towards enhancing our community, the Summerside Residents Association (SSRA) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. We invite you to nominate yourself or fellow residents who are committed to making Summerside is an even better place to live, work, and play.

Available Positions:
The SSRA BOD has 5 vacancies for which we are seeking nominations. Each Directorship’s term will be 2 years. Eligibility requirements can be found in Article 30 of our current bylaws (available on our website) About us> Important Documents> Articles of Association

Why Join the SRA?
Make a difference, build connections, and shape the future priorities of the Summerside Residents
Association. We are looking for individuals with backgrounds in a wide variety of disciplines including but not limited to accounting, legal, environment, human resources, engineering, recreation management,
governance, and policy development.


Nominee application process:
To nominate yourself or someone else, please complete the Nomination Form available on our website or
contact us directly for more information. Nominations will be overseen by the Nomination Committee, which will ensure fairness and transparency in the nomination and election process. Interested individuals must submit the following documents as part of their nomination:

 Completed Nomination Form (available on our website) About Us> AGM> Lake Summerside Board of Directors Recruitment – Call for Nominees
 Simplified Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume.
 Statement of Interest outlining your motivation for serving on the SSRA Board and relevant
qualifications that you think will be of benefit to the SSRA.

Deadline for Nominations:
Nominations must be submitted by May 9th to be considered for the upcoming election at our AGM on June 20, 2024. The nominations committee may reach out to you for a brief interview and an explanation of the nomination and election process. Attendance at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) is not mandatory for a nominee; however, it is highly recommended as you will be given the opportunity to address the membership prior to the election.


Current Board Structure and Commitments:
The SSRA is a non-representational, governance board that creates policies to inform operations. Our work is performed at meetings of the Board and through committee work. The SSRA BOD requires active participation and engagement in governance work. We look forward to having you join us!
